Privacy by architecture

Local-first isn't
a setting. It's the spine.

No telemetry funnel, no prompt proxy. Run Ollama or LM Studio and the agent never touches the network. It's a Chromium fork — bring your extensions and bookmarks straight over.

  • Bring your own key — direct to the model
  • Fully local with Ollama / LM Studio
  • Import from Chrome in one step

Design System Reference · 色 / 形 / 神

Cream canvas · one terracotta · a dog that disarms

Extracted through the 色 / 形 / 神 lens — color, form, spirit. BrowserOS's whole move is to take the most intimidating surface in software (model keys, MCP servers, provider endpoints) and make it feel like a warm consumer app. It does that with three decisions, repeated everywhere.

View browseros.com ↗

One accent, mostly empty

Warm off-white canvas (#FAF7F2) carries everything; a single terracotta orange appears on barely 3% of pixels — CTA, NEW pill, the send button. Even the grays lean warm. Nothing cold ever enters.

克制 · restraint

Rounded-rect, hairline, air

Big 16–22px radii, 1px warm hairline borders instead of heavy shadows, generous whitespace, a faint grid-paper new-tab. Buttons stop short of full pills — a rounded rectangle (~12px) is the tell.

手感 · feel

De-threaten the hard stuff

A white poodle mascot watches over the keys-and-endpoints screen. The new tab empties out to a single question. The spirit: make configuring AI feel un-scary, almost friendly.

去威慑 · disarm

Color

The canvas is never pure white — it's a warm cream that makes the whole product feel paper-like, not clinical. The orange is the entire brand; use it on one thing per view (the primary action) and let warm grays carry the rest.

Typography

Inter does the work, paired with Noto Sans SC for the mixed CN/EN reality of the new tab. Display weights run heavy (800) with tight tracking; the warmth comes from the cream and the rounding, not the letterforms. Tabular figures on the stat strip.

Radius

Rounds generously but deliberately stops short of full pills on buttons — the rounded rectangle at ~12px is a BrowserOS signature. Full pills are reserved for badges, chips, and the announcement bar.

Components

CTA hierarchy: orange-fill rounded-rect (primary) → white hairline-bordered rect (secondary) → warm soft fill (tertiary). The orange-bordered USE button is the provider-grid workhorse. Inputs sit on warm fills and bloom orange on focus.
